Occurs naturally on the higher parts of Mt Kaputar N.P. and from near Parlour Mountain (NW of Armidale), also collected at Mt Canobolas in the 1950s. Grows in heath, shrubland and woodland communities, generally restricted to skeletal soils on trachyte outcrops.
Upright open shrub with greyish green slightly hairy leaves and small clusters of yellow star-shaped flowers. moderately frost/drought hardy, well-drained soils, full sun to semi-shade. Foreground shrub, rockeries, tubs.
