Widespread in forests and woodlands in the sub-tropical and warmer temperate regions of eastern Australia from Victoria to Queensland.
Small ornamental tree with spreading branches, fine narrow leaves and masses of pale yellow flower spikes. Frost/drought hardy, adaptable to most soils, full sun. Suited to windbreaks, avenues, screens, understorey planting. Has edible seeds. Attracts bees.
