Strappy grass-like plant with long fine cylindrical leaves which form a stiff hemispherical clump in 2-3 years. Eventually forms a grass-tree with a dark trunk and occasionally long flower spikes which rise from the centre. This may take many years. Frost/drought hardy, adaptable to most soil types. Allow space for the fronds to spread out.
