Grows naturally along the coast south from the Hunter Valley to the A.C.T. and common in the Sydney region. Naturalised in other states.
Hardy large bipinnate wattle with a green trunk, dark green fern-like foliage and clusters of yellow ball flowers. Very hardy but short lived in cultivation - approximately 15 years due to borer attack. Frost/drought hardy, adaptable to most soils. Suits windbreaks, bush gardens.
Edible seed collected in summer can be roasted and ground.
