Widespread in alpine and subalpine parts of NSW, Vic and ACT.
Native herb similar to dandelion with long narrow leaves and yellow flowers on thin stalks which stand above the foliage. Spreads by seed which are dispersed by wind. Well-drained soil, frost hardy, moderately drought hardy. Full sun. Suited to rockeries, tubs, foreground or as a filler between groundcovers. Self seeds.
Has an underground sweet tuber which can be roasted. Best harvested after flowering
