Grows naturally on coastal headlands or behind dunes near the beach.
Prostrate, sprawling plant with soft stems and foliage. Leaves are soft, oval or diamond-shaped and about 75 - 100 mm long. The small, greenish yellow flowers appear at the leaf bases throughout most of the year. Frost tender. Best grown in a shady position where it can spread. Suits an elevated tub or hanging basket. Leaves can be added to spinach and steamed.
