Banksia repens Creeping Banksia
Grows naturally in sandy soils on the south coast of Western Australia.
Prostrate shrub with horizontal underground stems and large grey lobed leathery upright leaves which appear to rise from the ground. The 10 cm high upright cones which appear to sit on the ground may vary from orange to tan and pink, fading to a greyish colour. Moderately frost and drought hardy, best grown in sandy well-drained soil in full sun. Mulch with sand. Foreground shrub, rockeries, tubs. Attracts birds
