Grows naturally on the northern sand plains from Geraldton to Shark Bay.
Upright narrow-leaved shrub with tapered orange-red flower spikes which are 60-100 mm long. Buds form in late summer. Moderately frost hardy. Drought hardy. Prefers a well-drained site. Best grown in between other shrubs as it is susceptible to wind damage. Full sun to part shade. Specimen, background shrub, near the house, courtyards, large tubs. Attracts birds. Parrots may damage the flowers.
