Occurs naturally in swampy coastal situations from Maryborough in Qld to Ulladulla in NSW.
Small tree with attractive foliage and a paperbark trunk. The shrub is covered in creamy white blossoms which led to the name Snow in Summer. Adaptable to most soils including limestone, tolerates water-logging for brief periods and salt spray, Frost/drought hardy, full sun. Upper storey in a bush garden, screen. Can be pruned to a neat shape. Avoid planting near pipes or foundations. Attracts butterflies and bees. Can be kept compact by regular pruning.
