Occurs naturally along the NSW coast north from Nowra district in moist situations, often along stream banks.
Dense shrub or small tree with papery bark, prickly leaves and sprays of creamy white brushes at the ends of the branches. Moderately frost and drought hardy, adaptable to most soils, full sun. Windbreaks, upper storey of a bush garden, screen. Plant away from drains or foundations. Can be pruned to shape when young. Good bird habitat. Attracts bees and butterflies.
