Grows naturally along the south coast of WA.
Spreading groundcover Banksia which creeps along the ground via underground stems. It has large fern-like greyish green hairy leaves and large rusty coloured brushes which rise at ground level. Prefers a very well-drained dry sandy soil in full sun. Plant on western side of the garden in a raised bed. One of the hardiest of the WA prostrate Banksias. Will form a large clump. Rockeries, large shallow tubs. Attracts birds.
