Occurs near dry forests or rainforests on sandy or rocky escarpments on the east coast.
Tall shrub with aromatic leaves and small white flowers. Can be used as a mosquito repellant shrub. Frost tender. Not drought hardy. Plant near the house in the shade or in a large tub. Water regularly. May be pruned to shape. Leaves can be dried for pot pourri.
Grown in plantations in Kenya, Zaire, South Africa, Guatemala and Australia.
