Naturalised in Australia on coastal sand dunes. Originally from South Africa. Can be invasive.
Prostrate creeping succulent with long stems which root at the nodes. It has thick fleshy angular leaves and large yellow daisy – like flowers fading to pink and large fleshy fruits which are eaten by birds and small mammals. Salt tolerant. Moderately frost hardy. Drought hardy. Prefers a well-drained sunny position. Excellent for embankments. Rockeries, tubs, ground cover. Prunings should be placed in a black plastic bag in the sun and allowed to rot then composted.
