Hakea salicifolia Fine leaf form
Fine leaved form of the willow hakea which grows naturally in open forests of eastern New South Wales and the extreme south east of Queensland.
Attractive small tree with narrow fine foliage, a dense crown and small creamy white flowers along the stems in spring followed by clusters of woody follicles which hold a pair of seeds each. Very hardy and adaptable to most soils and conditions. Suited to all gardens as a background or understorey shrub. Easy care. Prune off lower branches as the plant grows. Attractive to small birds.
